If you are reading this page because you like the imagery I have created and displayed on this website, then look no further.  You have found your photographer.  Not all photographers are the same—each has his/her own personal style and unique look to their imagery.  

I have been a photographer for over 23 years.  I have worked in professional studios on-staff, as a freelancer, and for my own clients.  I have shot images for all types of media.  Fahrmann photography has a commitment to providing a top-notch experience for you in the creation of work to meet your needs.

Please send an email for estimate with complete company information.  Please also provide a detailed description of the work to be performed so that I can provide an accurate and relevant estimate.

Editorial/Journalistic Photography

(for news organizations/blogs/magazines, etc.)

I can work at assignment rate plus expenses for most editorial work.  I prefer an image credit and/or a link back to my website for as long as the images for the story are archived or run.  I shoot the event as contracted and then post the images to a password protected website space where the individual images can be downloaded by the client exclusively and used for a contracted amount of time. 

This type of photography can not be used to advertise a product, otherwise charges revert to commercial rates.

Private Photography Instruction and Small Groups:

I offer one-on-one and small group private photography instruction.  I teach courses in introductory film or digital photography, nature photography, commercial studio photography, fashion, and portraiture—virtually anything you see represented in my online library of imagery.  Courses vary in cost depending on the amount of equipment involved and intensity of the course to be taught.  Interested?  Send an email or give me a call with your course preference and number of participants (from 1 person to a maximum of 8.)  Non-refundable deposit is required at the time the class is scheduled.

College, University, and Adjunct Faculty Teaching

I am qualified to teach adjunct coursework at the college level.  I have a Master of Liberal Studies degree with emphasis in Art Science Innovation, a business and management graduate certificate in Innovation Studies, and an undergraduate degree in Studio Arts—all of them from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.  My CV and supporting documentation can be mailed or emailed to your department upon request.  Please use the contact form on the website.  About 1% of my personal photography projects are shown on this site.  To view some of these projects with descriptions, visit my Art-Science Innovation blog.

Sub-contract/Freelance Photography for Twin Cities Commercial Photography Studios

Need a contract shooter for a day, a week, or longer?  I have shot for many studios in Minneapolis/St. Paul Metropolitan Area.  My contract for hire day rate is competitive with other freelance photographers.  I have worked with all camera formats, both digital and film and a wide variety of strobes and tungsten lighting.

If you would like to see samples of my tabletop work, please look under my Photo Illustration Gallery.  I also have room set and location experience.  I am happy to schedule appointments to bring my print portfolio and tearsheets to your studio for a meet and greet.

This type of photography is only performed in your studio (or location) with your equipment (or rental gear,) supplies, products, model releases and clients.  I just walk in and do the creative photography.  I have worked for high production and high-quality output studios.  See work samples here.

Portrait, Senior Portrait, and Fashion Portfolio Pricing

My pricing is a little different than other photography service providers.  I don’t sell portrait prints, but provide free digital downloads of the images after the shoot.  You download the images you want and make as many prints as you want in any size that you want.  Want something retouched?  We can do it for 50.00 per image, or you can take the images to another professional retoucher of your choice.

Your Own Dedicated Portrait/Portfolio/Image Web Gallery for 14 Days

When I make photographs for you, I shoot many images—more than will be included in the final set of uploaded images.  I pre-edit images, then post the best ones to an online web gallery, and email you a link to the web space.

Portrait Pricing:

Portraits and Senior Portrait Sessions:

            $225.00 Short Session up to 30 minutes, outdoors in South Minneapolis

            $400.00 Outdoors—At your preferred location, up to two hours.

            $750.00 Indoors, or indoors/outdoors combined

            Sessions can last up to 2 hours at the photographer’s discretion

I charge more for the indoor sessions to cover studio and equipment costs

Share any full portrait session with a friend and save $100 each!

For example, two people sharing an outdoor session would be $300.00 each instead of $400.00

Model Portfolio Sessions:  Model Test Session

Model Test Session—this is used to discover if someone is photogenic and has model potential

Session often last up to 30 minutes at the photographer’s discretion, and takes place in an outdoor location.  Maximum of 1 outfit can be photographed during the session.  Model provides their own hair, makeup, and clothing selections and comes to the location on time, prepared to start immediately.

Professional Model Portfolio Session—perfect for building or updating your model portfolio

Sessions often last up to two hours at the photographer’s discretion  Model provides their own hair and makeup (this can often mean hiring your own hair and makeup artist.)  Clothing can be selected with the photographer’s help.  Bring at least 5 outfits/variations.

                                                Professional Model Session                              $600.00

Weddings

Minimum of $2500 for a local wedding or $10,000 for a destination wedding.  The base pricing listed here includes up to 4 hours of photographic coverage.

Retouching

Retouching is rarely needed, but if you want some images lightly retouched, the fee is $50.00 per image.  See my FAQs section for more information.
